M.A.N.D.Y. Vs. Booka Shade - Donut
Already established scions of Germany’s tech-house crown, Get Physical’s M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade linked up in 2008 for this particularly unfurling beat odyssey, though it’s just now getting a re-release with versions from Boy 8-Bit, Logistics, Ben Hoo, James Talk, and Gui Boratto. The original still sounds super incisive, a convergence of rubber band synths and harpooning drums, all of it inching towards some (eventually unattainable, at least in these seven or so minutes) reverie. Just as the best non-peak-time send-ups should be.
